Getting started
- Upload the VERA theme ZIP in Shopify Admin under Online Store → Themes.
- Keep the uploaded theme unpublished while you configure and test it.
- Open the theme editor and add your logo, colors, fonts, main menu, footer menu, products, collections, policies, and social media links.
- Preview the home, product, collection, cart, search, customer, policy, and password pages on desktop and mobile.
- Duplicate the configured theme before editing code or installing an app that changes storefront markup.
Header and navigation
Main menu
Select the Shopify navigation menu in the Header settings. Use short, descriptive top-level labels such as New, Women, Men, and Accessories.
Mega navigation
Add a mega navigation block for each matching top-level link. The trigger text must exactly match its main menu label. Add curated secondary links and a relevant promotional image.
Mobile behavior
The editorial wordmark animation is intentionally disabled on phones. Mobile always uses the stable header logo for clarity and predictable navigation.
Home page sections
Sections can be added, removed, and reordered from the theme editor.
- Campaign hero: image or Shopify-hosted video, focal point, overlay, heading, and desktop wordmark animation.
- Editorial intro: concise brand positioning and a small set of clear links.
- Collection grid: distinct imagery for major catalog entry points.
- Featured collection: product rail with quick purchase and product-card interactions.
- Campaign film: Shopify-hosted video with accessible playback control.
- Before and after: touch-ready comparison for colorways or styling changes.
- Journal, newsletter, and service sections: editorial content, email capture, and store benefits.
Keep headings brief and avoid repeating the same image in multiple sections.
Collections and filters
VERA uses Shopify's native collection filters. Configure available filters with the Shopify Search and Discovery app. Use meaningful product types, option values, prices, and metafields so filters return useful results.
- Create distinct Women, Men, Accessories, and New collections.
- Add alt text to collection and product images.
- Check empty collections and no-result filter combinations.
- Keep the default sort option appropriate for the catalog.
Product pages
Complete each product with a vendor, descriptive title, price, variants, images, availability, description, shipping information, and care guidance. Configure product blocks from the product template rather than hard-coding information.
Media
Use consistent aspect ratios and lighting within a product. Include alternate views and detail images. Product video should be short, muted when autoplayed, and useful for evaluating fit or movement.
Variants and size guidance
Use clear option names such as Size and Color. Add size charts and fit notes where applicable. Test unavailable and sold-out combinations.
Image and video guidance
| Use | Recommended source | Guidance |
|---|---|---|
| Hero image | 2400 px or wider | Leave safe space for text and test the selected focal point on mobile. |
| Product image | 1600–2400 px | Use one consistent portrait ratio and neutral lighting. |
| Collection card | 1600 px or wider | Use a distinct image that clearly represents the collection. |
| Campaign video | Shopify-hosted MP4 | Keep it compressed, short, muted-ready, and free of essential text baked into the video. |
Compress media before upload. Oversized images and videos are the most common cause of slow storefront loading.
Motion and accessibility
VERA respects the visitor's reduced-motion preference. Keep link labels descriptive, maintain visible focus states, provide image alt text, and preserve sufficient color contrast. Do not communicate essential information through animation, color, or hover alone.
Apps and custom code
Theme support covers reasonable compatibility guidance but cannot guarantee every third-party app. Test app blocks and embeds in an unpublished duplicate. Contact the app developer first when the issue originates in app-generated code.
Troubleshooting
- Confirm the problem also occurs in the latest unmodified VERA version.
- Test in a private browser window and on another supported browser.
- Temporarily disable recently added app embeds.
- Check that required products, collections, menus, and metafields exist.
- Capture the page URL, device, browser version, expected result, actual result, and reproduction steps.
- Send these details through the support form.
Frequently asked questions
How quickly will support reply?
VERA support replies within two business days. Confirmed critical storefront defects are prioritized.
Does support include custom design changes?
No. Setup guidance and bug fixes are included. Bespoke features, custom styling, content entry, and agency services are separate work.
Can support access my Shopify Admin?
Never send a password or collaborator code through the form. If admin access is required, the support team will request collaborator access through Shopify's official process.
Why does the installed theme not include the demo photography?
Theme Store demo imagery does not transfer on installation. Merchants must upload their own licensed content.
What should I send with a bug report?
Include the store URL, theme version, affected page, device and browser, reproduction steps, and a screenshot or short recording without customer personal data.
